A very heart-wrenching incident of gang rape has come to light from Kheda district of Gujarat. A 17 year old Hindu minor girl was being systematically subjected to gang rape, blackmailing and mental torture for the last three years. A complaint has been registered against Parvez Anwar Khan (the main accused) and his 8 Muslim associates in this heinous crime. Police have so far arrested 8 out of 9 accused, while one is still absconding.

The victim told her mother that the main accused is Parvez Pathan, who is a resident of her village. There were close relations between the two families and they also visited each other’s homes. Taking advantage of this proximity, Parvez started trying to trap the girl and got her phone number.

Three years ago, Parvez called the girl to the village school late at night, threatening to tarnish her image. There he raped the girl for the first time and made a video of the act. After this he raped her 10 to 12 times on different occasions.

Parvez shared obscene videos and photos of the victim with his friends. After this, her friends also started intimidating and sexually exploiting the girl.

According to the FIR, the accused had completely mentally broken the victim. Parvez crossed the limits of cruelty and said, “Whenever we call you, you will have to come. If you do not come, we will make these photos and videos viral. You have been kept for the entertainment of our entire group. If you refuse to have physical relations with anyone, we will defame you publicly.” Not only this, the accused also threatened her not to marry him and said that she would always have to be ‘available’ for them.

The police have named Parvez Anwar Khan (main accused), Mahir Yakub Pathan, Faizan Zahir Khan Pathan, Taufiq alias Tausiq Hussain Khan Pathan, Sahil Liaquat Khan alias Dawood Pathan, Ayaan Liaquat Khan Pathan, Moin Firoz Khan Pathan, Maroof alias Noorani Mubarak Pathan, Salman Arif Khan Pathan (absconding) as accused in this criminal conspiracy.

Kheda Town Police Station Officer V.B. Desai said that this was not an ordinary crime, but a well-planned criminal conspiracy. Police are investigating whether this gang had targeted the girl following any specific pattern.

The victim was so depressed that she had contemplated suicide. Seeing him crying continuously at home, when his mother asked him sternly, this three-year-old hell was revealed. The family was initially hesitant due to fear of social stigma, but after support from the community, they lodged a police complaint.

The police have registered a case against the accused under sections 64(2)(m), 70(2) (gang rape), and 61(2) (conspiracy) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) as well as various stringent sections of the POCSO Act. Hindu organizations have expressed strong anger over this incident and demanded death sentence for the accused. Police teams are raiding various places in search of absconding accused Salman Khan Pathan.
