The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) celebrated a solid 47-run win over the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 31 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday, April 21. This victory marks the 2016 champions' third win in a row this season, propelling them up to third place in the standings.

Batting first after being put in by Axar Patel, SRH took full advantage of the excellent batting conditions. They racked up an impressive 242 runs in their 20 overs, largely thanks to Abhishek Sharma, who scored his second IPL century.

The 25-year-old finished with an unbeaten 135 off just 68 balls, smashing 10 fours and 10 sixes. He was well-supported by Heinrich Klaasen, who added a quick 37 not out at a staggering strike rate of 284.62.

In response, DC put up a fight but were always playing catch-up, ending their innings at 195. They had a glimmer of hope when Nitish Rana and KL Rahul were scoring rapidly in the early part of the innings, with Rana making 57 and Rahul contributing 37.

However, DC struggled to find any significant partnerships as the innings progressed. SRH's bowling attack was spearheaded by Eshan Malinga, who took four wickets, while Harsh Dubey chipped in with three.

As is often the case in IPL matches, the clash between SRH and DC was filled with milestones for both the team and individual players. Abhishek stole the spotlight today, dazzling the Hyderabad crowd with his explosive century.
