The left-hander registered an unbeaten 135 off 68 balls, helping Sunrisers Hyderabad achieve a 47-run victory over their opponents.

After being awarded player of the match, Abhishek shared an emotional anecdote of his father. Speaking of his consistent support during matches

Abhishek said:

"I mean to be very honest, I don't know how but since my Under-12 days my dad has been sitting next to the screen all the time and in Hyderabad as well , He is always sitting there and whenever I am at the non-striker's end he always tells me how to play a certain shot".

He further explained that this same habit continued even in today's game and urged for cameras to show him during future games.

He Concluded:

"So, it's still going on. I want one of the cameras to go to him from next time and just see his reactions"

Century for Sister, Equals Kohli's Record

Abhishek got to his half-century in just 25 deliveries and continued his aggressive approach to bring up his century in just 47 deliveries. It was his second century in the Indian Premier League.

The 25-year-old dedicated this century to his sister, who he revealed couldn't attend this match due to being sick. "My sister is missing because she had some infection. So this is for you as well" Abhishek added.

With this hundred under his belt, Abhishek reached a significant milestone equaling Virat Kohli's record of nine centuries by an Indian batter in the T20 format.

Abhishek, for his stunning cameo, was given the Player of the Match award and is the current highest run-scorer in the ongoing competition with 323 runs from 7 innings with an average of 53.83 and a strike rate of 215.33.
