Will Josh Inglis Feature in LSG vs RR Clash Today? Latest Team Update
Cricket Gully | April 22, 2026 3:39 PM CST

The IPL 2026 match number 32 will feature Lucknow Super Giants against Rajasthan Royals on the field. The LSG vs RR match will happen at Ekana Cricket Stadium. The two teams enter this match with outcomes from previous matches that show complete opposite results. The Riyan Parag-led Royals have won four of their six matches, while Rishabh Pant’s LSG has managed only two wins from six games.

LSG faces another setback after their ₹8.6 crore signing Josh Inglis got injured while Anrich Nortje left the squad during the season. The South African pacer, bought for ₹2 crore, exited early after just one game where he went wicketless, conceding 39 runs against Delhi Capitals.

Nortje played in only one match before his departure because the team needed to use another bowler Manimaran Siddharth who performed better than the pacer during his recent matches.  The current focus shifts to Josh Inglis who has been unavailable since the tournament commencement.

The IPL 2026 auction saw LSG acquire Josh Inglis for an 8.6 crore price. The Australian wicketkeeper-batter attracted intense bidding after his wedding in early April because he wanted to join Justin Langer's team.  Recent updates indicate that Josh Inglis will join LSG approximately on May 4. He missed the first half of the season because of his wedding plans. He got married on April 18 and will spend some more time away before heading to India.

Inglis played his last season with Punjab Kings during which he scored 278 runs while maintaining a strike rate of 162.57 yet the franchise released him before the 2026 auction. Inglis will miss the LSG vs RR match because he is expected to arrive on May 4 which marks the 32nd match of IPL 2026. The LSG team has relied on their foreign batters Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram while they wait for Inglis to complete their team.

The Rishabh Pant-led LSG team currently occupies the ninth position on the IPL 2026 points table after losing three consecutive matches. They have also failed to secure a win at their home ground, Ekana Stadium. LSG struggles this season because their top order batting fails to produce results while their entire batting team underachieves which includes their main player Rishabh Pant.

Pant has demonstrated unreliable performance despite his ₹27 crore price tag. The only two matches he performed well in were the match-winning 68* off 50 balls against SRH and the fast 43 off 23 balls against PBKS.  The bowling unit has maintained its effectiveness by controlling opposing batters through the leadership of experienced bowler Mohammad Shami.
