New Delhi: At least six people were killed while several others suffered injured after a pickup van overturned near Virkshetra in Kaprada area of Gujarat’s Valsad district on Wednesday.
Ten of the injured are said to be in critical condition. The vehicle was carrying 34 people at the time of the incident.
Van was carrying members of a family
According to reports, the vehicle was carrying members of a family travelling for a wedding-related ceremony when the accident occurred on a sloped stretch of road. Police suspect a brake failure may have caused the vehicle to roll backwards, leading to the driver losing control before it overturned.
Teams from the police and 108 ambulance service reached the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.
