According to the report, these ships have been identified as MSC Francesca and Epaminodes. The owners of the ships could not be immediately contacted. One of these ships, Epaminodes, was coming from Dubai to Mundra Port in Gujarat. Let us tell you that earlier America had postponed the visit of Vice President JD Vance to Pakistan. Trump had extended the ceasefire between America and Iran for two weeks. This development reflects the tension in West Asia.
The smell of gunpowder has once again spread in the world’s most important sea route, the Strait of Hormuz. On Wednesday, the Iranian military indiscriminately fired on three merchant ships passing through international waters, deepening the crisis over global energy supplies. This attack took place at a time when efforts were being made for Iran’s peace talks with America and Israel.
Why did Iran attack the ships?
Iran’s paramilitary ‘Revolutionary Guard’ carried out this audacious action on Wednesday morning. According to reports, the Iranian military first opened fire on a container ship and shortly thereafter targeted another ship. Iranian media claims that these ships ignored the army’s warnings, so action was taken against them legally. The captured ships have been identified as MSC Francisca and Epaminondas, which were captured by Iranian forces. Shortly thereafter, a third ship Euphoria was also attacked, which is reported to be stranded on the Iranian coast.

Trump’s ceasefire decision did not work?
This attack took place when US President Trump had announced to indefinitely extend the ceasefire ending on Wednesday. Trump had expressed hope that this would open the way for talks. However, Trump also made it clear that the siege of Iran’s ports will continue. Iran is angry about this. Iranian diplomats say they will not come to the table for any kind of peace talks until the US lifts its siege. This means that despite the ceasefire, this war in the sea is not ending.
What is the impact of sea corrosion?
The increasing tension in Hormuz is directly impacting your pocket. The price of crude oil (bent crude) in the international market has crossed $ 98 per barrel, which has increased by 35 percent since the start of the war. Due to stoppage or increase in supply of oil and gas, not only the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing, but transportation of food items and other goods has also become expensive. If this sea route remains closed for a long time or attacks continue here, the risk of global recession will increase further and it will become difficult for the common man to run his household.
