Forget PS5 vs Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch 2 vs Steam Deck, the Christmas 2026 console wars could revolve around the Evercade Nexus and the recently announced NEOGEO AES+. If you failed to pre-order one of the limited edition Evercade Nexus 64 Edition consoles, then the good news is that the regular edition is currently available to purchase ahead of the October 30 launch. If you head over to Argos right now, then you can pre-order the Evercade Nexus with the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack for £169.99.

It's worth pointing out that Argos customers can opt for delivery or collection for when the console launches.

Likewise, there are also buy now and pay later options if you want to spread the cost.

Argos shoppers will also be pleased to hear that this particular version comes with an exclusive carry case for even greater portability.

The console itself features a set of dual analogue sticks, not to mention a superior 5.89-inch IPS display.

You can check it out for yourself by watching the trailer below.

The improved display and dual analogue support makes it ideal for playing games like Doom, Duke Nukem, Tomb Raider and the newly announced Banjo-Kazooie double-pack.

The handheld also supports the newly announced EverSync local multiplayer function, which connects two Nexus devices for local multiplayer. Better yet, you only need one cartridge, and don't need to connect to WiFi.

Other quality of life upgrades include wireless headphone support, which makes it even better for gaming on the go.

The version available at Argos comes in a stylish black colour scheme with red logo at the base.

Needless to say, it's also compatible with existing Evercade cartridges, including inbound collections like Activision 2 and Mega Cat Studios 3.
