DA Hike Implemented by the Government: There is welcome news for Central Government employees. The Ministry of Finance has announced a 2% hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA), raising it from 58% to 60%. This new rate will be deemed effective from January 1, 2026.
According to a memorandum issued by the Department of Expenditure under the Ministry of Finance, this proposal had already received the President's approval.
This increase will have a direct impact on employees' salaries. For instance, if an employee's basic salary is ₹50,000, they will receive approximately ₹1,000 extra per month.
Amidst rising inflation, this hike is expected to provide some financial relief to government employees.
