Recent reports regarding the alleged death of UFO researcher and author David Wilcock have sparked significant speculation across social media platforms. This wave of rumors began following a report of a suicide incident near Ridge Road in Boulder County, Colorado. Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna took to X to express her condolences, stating, "We just learned of the tragic passing of David Wilcock. We are praying for his family and loved ones and the millions of lives he impacted." The ambiguity surrounding these reports has led to mixed reactions online, with some fans mourning while others questioned the validity of the news.

Many social media users have drawn parallels to other recent losses in the UFO research community, particularly referencing Nick Pope, whose death was confirmed by his wife earlier this month. In her heartfelt post, she shared, "My heart is breaking — Nick (@nickpopemod) passed away this afternoon at our home. The last few weeks of his life, even as he suffered, he managed to do a few interviews from home. I was so lucky to have met and to have married Nick. He was a wonderful husband. I loved him dearly." Pope, who previously led the British government's UFO project, was also recognized for his appearances on the show Ancient Aliens and authored several books, including Open Skies, Closed Minds.

Some users on social media have suggested a troubling trend following the deaths of notable figures in the UFO field, although no evidence supports these claims. One user remarked, "First it was Erich von Däniken who died in January, then Nick Pope earlier this month & now the news about David Wilcock. All in the 1st half of 2026… If the news is true, it really is awful & certainly suspicious." Another user expressed concern, stating, "So we're losing people in the UFOlogy circles too? 3 in a week. Nick Pope just passed, too. What is happening?" Many fans reminisced about seeing these figures on Ancient Aliens, voicing their sadness over the reported news. Pope passed away earlier in April after battling stage 4 oesophageal cancer that had metastasized to his liver. Meanwhile, von Däniken, famed for his 1968 book Chariots of the Gods?, passed away in January following a brief illness.
