Shocking Incident by the River

A tragic scene unfolded by the Betwa River where the bodies of a young couple were discovered. The boy and girl were found intertwined, with foam coming from their mouths and bags tied to their feet.

The grim discovery was made by children playing cricket nearby, who alerted local residents with their screams. Upon arrival, the police conducted an investigation, finding cigarettes at the scene along with the couple's sandals placed together. Authorities suspect that the pair may have taken poison due to a romantic relationship gone awry.

Initially, police interviewed locals who confirmed that the couple did not reside in the area. After circulating their photographs, the couple was identified within two hours. Family members arrived shortly after, revealing that the two had been missing since Sunday evening.

The girl's brother shared that his sister was a student in her intermediate year and was their only sister among two brothers. Their father had passed away, leaving them with little to say about the incident. Meanwhile, the father of the boy, Kashiram, mentioned that his son was uneducated and worked as a waiter. He was engaged to a girl from the town of Jakhora, and they were preparing for a ceremony the following day.

Kashiram recounted that his son had left home around 3 PM on Sunday to attend a religious event but never returned. He expressed confusion over the presence of cigarettes at the scene, stating that his son did not consume any substances.

Neighbors speculated that the couple may have resorted to suicide due to familial disapproval of their relationship. Following the post-mortem on Tuesday, the bodies were handed over to their families. Doctors reported no visible injuries on either body, suggesting poisoning as the likely cause of death, although the exact reason remains undetermined, leading to the preservation of their viscera for further examination.
