Snowflake Intelligence is getting a handful of genuinely useful additions. Users will soon be able to describe multi-step workflows in plain language—things like pulling data, running analysis, and sending follow-ups—and have the agent handle them automatically. It's also getting MCP connectors to tie into tools like Gmail, Google Calendar, Jira, Salesforce, and Slack. A deep research mode is coming too, designed to produce cited, multi-step reports by reasoning across structured data, unstructured content, and external sources.

Cortex Code Gets Broader System Support and IDE IntegrationsOn the builder side, Cortex Code now connects to external systems including AWS Glue, Databricks, and Postgres. There's a new VS Code extension and a Claude Code plugin so developers can access it directly from their editor. A Python and TypeScript SDK is also being added, which lets teams embed Cortex Code into their own apps and workflows rather than using it as a standalone tool.

Since launching in November 2025, Cortex Code has been picked up by over half of Snowflake's customer base.

Over 9,100 Weekly Active Users on Snowflake's AI ProductsThe company says more than 9,100 customers are using its AI products on a weekly basis. Customers quoted in the announcement include United Rentals—which has over 1,600 locations—and Wolfspeed, which says it has deployed dozens of AI agents across manufacturing, supply chain, and finance. Telenav, which processes over 20 terabytes of data and 200 million events per day, says workflows that used to take days can now be done in hours.

Snowflake's broader pitch is positioning itself as the "control plane" for enterprise AI—a single governed layer where data, models, and enterprise apps come together.
