A cleaner achieved impressive results after trying a new method to get rid of rust and limescale from a sink.

Keeping your home clean can be tricky, especially during a busy week. But it might be easier than you think with this one clever trick. On Reddit, some homeowners have taken to a forum to share their most helpful cleaning tricks.

From hoovering hacks to unusual cleaning items, hidden in the comments are a huge range of innovative ideas which you can implement in your home. Even professional cleaners have taken advantage of the tips shared, as one went onto reveal how one had completely transformed her client's stainless steel sink.

They went on to share before and after photos of the sink, which was covered in limescale and rust, and the impressive results they'd gotten after listening to advice from other Reddit users.

"After looking for advice on this sub a few weeks ago, and someone kindly advising me that the marks on my client's sink are a mix of rust, mould and limescale, I decided to tackle this over a number of weeks when I had a spare five minutes during the cleans," they explained in their post.

The accompanying photos really did prove the effectiveness of the cleaning method, as the before photos showed the stainless steel sink looking dirty and used, with proof of rust and discolouration made from the limescale.

However, the after photos proved the hard work had paid off, as it looked shiny and like new again. So how did they do it?

They went on to reveal: "I used Bar Keeper's Friend power cream, a steel scourer and some heavy duty limescale remover and got these incredible results!"

Bar Keeper's Friend is a versatile, non-scratch liquid cleaner designed to remove grease, grime, rust, and limescale from household surfaces, and claims to be perfect for cleaning hobs, sinks, and vertical surfaces. It can be found in stores for around £2.50 per bottle.

Meanwhile, steel scourers and lime scale remover can also be found in most stores that sell cleaning supplies - although most people will already have this hiding in a cleaning cupboard at home.

Several people soon took to the comment section of the post to share their amazement, while some also went on to share more tips on how to keep it sparkling clean for longer.

"It looks like brand new! Great job!" one person said, while a second user wrote: "That's a seriously satisfying turnaround."

"Now that's some elbow grease! It's beautiful! Try the Bar Keepers Liquid and alcohol for maintenance. Works great!" a third person commented.

Someone else recommended: "Now polish it with stainless steel polish, thank me later!" To this, the cleaner replied: "Yes! I ran out of time today but will definitely do this next week."

"I hope your client truly appreciates your hard work. It looks great," another user wrote.
