Ayush Mhatre Replacement : Before the match to be played against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede today, Chennai Super Kings announced the replacement of injured Ayush Mhatre. CSK has included Akash Madhwal in the team in place of Mhatre. Who has played for Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.

According to the statement issued by IPL, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has included Akash Madhwal in the team in place of Ayush Mhatre. Ayush Mhatre has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 due to injury. Madhwal, who is a right-arm fast bowler, has previously played for Mumbai Indians (MI) (2023, 2024) and Rajasthan Royals (2025). He has played 17 IPL matches so far and has taken 23 wickets. The feat of taking five wickets in a match is also recorded in his name.
Madhwal, in his very first season for Mumbai, took an impressive 5/5 against Lucknow Super Giants in the eliminator match. Mhatre, who was the captain of India’s U19 World Cup-winning team, had started the season strongly for CSK. He scored two half-centuries in six matches, but suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg while batting against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 27th match. Madhwal has joined CSK for a price of Rs 30 lakh.
