Kala Shah Kala actor Binnu Dhillon recently expressed his disappointment in Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for holding his upcoming film, Khushkhabri. He said that his film has been stalled over one cuss word. He also called out CBFC for passing movies like Dhurandhar that has abusive words in almost every dialogue. Here's what he said:

In a recent video, Binnu Dhillon is heard ranting about the Censor Board who did not pass his film Khushkhabri due to one abusive word. Binnu said that the film’s trailer and songs were passed by the Censor Board, but their film got stuck due to the word ‘r**dirona’.
Binnu explained, “17 ko release thi, 16 ko hume pata chala ki hume censor nahi mila hai. Bilkul chota sa shabd tha 'r**dirona’, aur 6 cuts lagaye censor ne. Toh phir hume cuts implement kiye, dobaara dikhayi, toh isi liye hum late ho gaye (It was supposed to be released on the 17th, but on 16th, we found out that we hadn’t received the necessary approval from the Censor Board. There was just one cuss word, ‘ra*dirona’, and the Censor Board imposed six cuts. We implemented those changes and showed it again, which is why the film got delayed)."
The actor called CBFC for allowing movies like Dhurandhar that has crude dialogues marked with abusive words.
“Hum Punjab mein, ya Hindustan mein dekhte hai, Dhurandhar jaise films, jis mein teri maa ki, teri bhen ki ke neeche baat hi nahi hoti. Woh movie koi aap koi censor nahi lagate, koi cuts nahi lagate. Par yeh bhed-bhav Punjabi cinema ke saath kyu ho rahi hai.” (We see other movies like Dhurandhar in which there’s an abusive word in almost every dialogue and those films are passed without hesitation and delay. I don’t understand this discrimination against Punjabi cinema.)
Did obscene dialogues in ‘Dhurandhar’ get censored?
Bollywood films that use abusive language often come under CBFC’s axe. Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar went through the same. Both Dhurandhar movies featured abusive and coarse language but the cuss words, especially derogatory and offensive ones, were muted by the Censor Board. So, Dhillon’s claims weren’t entirely true. Binnu Dhillon’s Khushkhabri will is now slated to be released on April 24, 2026.
