Britain is going to hell in a handcart under Labour.
Our prime minister is a lawyer, apparently, and the Government incessantly bangs on about employment rights.
Which is all well and good unless you are working on the frontline during the worst shoplifting epidemic this country has witnessed.
The flagship Employment Rights Act is set to bring major reforms including strengthening protections against harassment in an effort to boost productivity, improve job security, and enforce worker rights.
Except it does nothing to help those who are now effectively forced to watch as the light fingered plunder shops and stores at will.
Once again Labour has it all wrong.
Why? Look at the appalling case of store boss Sean Egan, 46, the latest to be thrown out of his job after he led by example in trying to stop a violent, serial shoplifter thieving.
Instead of being commended by Morrisons and lauded by society as any reasonable person might assume he was sacked. Of course he was. In Labour's wonky vision of fairness, criminals are always the victims.
He's not the first - only recently Waitrose veteran Walker Smith, 54, was dismissed for tackling a thief at its Clapham Junction branch - and he won't be the last.
But as long as Labour - a party let's remember that sees absolutely nothing wrong with a man pretending to be a woman using female changing rooms - continues to back the idle and shirkers over those who still feel a deep sense of civic pride things will only get worse.
Across the country, in every town and city centre, along every high street, in every park and open space, wanton criminality abounds. Regular folk are frightened by what they see, what they hear, and more often than not what they can smell.
There is anger that things have come to this and there is frustration that more often than not a police presence is never nearby.
So it is left to public-spirited people like Mr Egan and Mr Smith to hold the line.
Where's the outrage from Sir Keir Starmer? If he's a lawyer, he must know the difference between right and wrong.
Mr Egan, 46, of Wolverhampton, is now struggling to support a young family. His last pay cheque was in January and the notoriety he has gained for doing the right thing has seen him become a retail pariah.
He said: "He was very aggressive and spitting at me. As the store manager, I put myself in a position to protect my staff and customers. There's a lot of pressure in retail to protect the product, to not lose money."
And there, in a nutshell, is life under Labour. The decent are jettisoned so the feckless can prosper.
It is senseless, it is plainly wrong, and sets an appalling example. But it is the perfect metaphor for what has happened under a government which is slowly shaping the Britain the hard left wanted - a free for all where the accepted norms of society are binned.
Shoplifters of the world unite because there are now literally more reasons to shop at Morrisons.
The message these stores have sent is clear: if you are a thief, just help yourself.
Is it any wonder why there is such a vocal uprising from all sections of society?
We have seen it in the picturesque East Sussex village of Crowborough where Labour planted hundreds of undocumented single illegal migrant men against the wishes of locals.
We have seen the hoisting of flags on countless street lights across the UK as regular folk try to inject a sense of patriotism against a prevailing tide of superiority.
We have witnessed arrogance and ineptitude that saw shady Peter Mandelson handed a top diplomatic post even though security vetting said a categorical no.
And we're about to witness a bloodbath at the local elections on May 7.
After that Starmer goes. But who is next? Angela Rayner or, worse still, Ed Miliband.
The future, for the time being at least, is bleak. But the revolution against Labour is growing.
Why?
Because every single dogmatic decision it takes is based on ideology and not for the good of the people it serves.
And day by day more and more are waking up to this unmitigated nightmare.
