Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s ‘cartoon’ comment sparks discourse about his age

Rising Indian star Vaibhav Suryavanshi has sparked discourse about his age yet again.

The 15-year-old has previously raised doubts about his age given his rise to fame and his batting prowess.

The Bihar-born cricketer started playing professional cricket even before he turned a teenager and became an IPL capped-player becore he turned 15.

In a recent post-match interview, the young star made a comment about how he spends his leisure time and the public has been dissecting it.

The player, who represents Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, said before taking on the field, he watches cartoons.

Speaking to Star Sportshe said “I watch cartoons before the game because it is my habit so yes – I still watch cartoons.”

Public reacted by questioning if it is his pushy effort to convince the masses that he is infact young.

One user wrote on X “He is trying very hard to prove he is 15 years old.”

Another claimed he has faked his age writing “He is trying very hard to convince people that he is only 14-15 years old and still behaves like a child, so that no one pays attention to the fact that he committed age fraud.”

Vaibhav was only 12 when he played for Bihar’s under-19 side. At the age of 13 he represented India under-19.
