petrol-diesel
The government has given relief information by denying the news that petrol and diesel are becoming expensive. According to the government, the prices of crude oil have increased significantly in the international market, due to which the government oil companies are suffering huge losses. It has been told that oil companies are facing losses of about Rs 20 per liter on petrol and about Rs 100 per liter on diesel. Despite this, the government has made it clear that at present there is no plan to increase the prices of petrol and diesel.
Recently, some reports had claimed that after the end of the assembly elections, the prices of petrol and diesel may increase by Rs 25 to 28 per liter. But the Petroleum Ministry has declared these reports completely wrong. The ministry said that no such proposal is currently under consideration and such news is being spread to spread fear and confusion among the people.
Why did the price of crude oil increase?
According to the government, due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, oil prices have increased rapidly in the international market. Last year the price of crude oil was around $70 per barrel. Now it has increased to more than $113 per barrel. The main reason for this is the increasing tension between America, Israel and Iran. Due to these incidents, the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important oil routes, has been affected, due to which the oil supply has been affected.
Still the price remains stable in India
Despite such a huge increase, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in India. The government says that it is constantly trying to ensure that this burden does not fall on the general public. In the last four years, India is among the few countries where the prices of petrol and diesel have not increased much. At present, petrol is being sold at Rs 94.77 per liter and diesel at Rs 87.67 per liter in Delhi.
