MI vs CSK: Sanju Samson scores his second hundred in IPL 2026

Sanju Samson scored his second hundred of the Indian Premier League 2026 in the MI vs CSK match at the Wankhede Stadium. After amassing an unbeaten 115 against the Delhi Capitals, the wicket-keeper batter posted 101 not out of 54 deliveries, including 10 fours and 6 sixes. Overall, he has hit five centuries in the tournament and has joined the list of great batters.

The right-handed batter kept losing partners from the other end but continued to bat with authority to take the score to 207/6 in the allotted 20 overs. He hit three centuries for his previous franchise Rajasthan Royals, and now he is making his performance count for the five-time champions in the IPL 2026.

After struggling in a few matches, Samson started showing his class and form for the Chennai Super Kings. He was traded from Rajasthan before the start of the 19th season as a long-term replacement for legendary batter MS Dhoni, and he has justified the trust of the team management and the owners.

In the first three games, he managed 6, 7 and 9 against the RR, PBKS and RCB, respectively. He came to life against the Capitals and followed it with 45 in a contest with KKR. The match between SRH and CSK saw him getting dismissed for just 7 before he returned to form in Mumbai.

In 184 matches, he has scored 4997 runs at an average of 31.82 and a strike rate of 140.87. Samson has smashed five tons, 26 fifties, 410 fours and 234 sixes so far.
