US President Donald Trump said in a post on the social media account ‘Truth Social’, “I have ordered the United States Navy to shoot down and destroy any boat, no matter how small, that is laying mines in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz. There should be no hesitation.”
He said that our mine sweepers are currently clearing the strait. I order that this work should now continue at three times more speed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Along with this, he also commented on the internal politics of Iran. Referring to the ongoing tussle over leadership in Iran, he also claimed American control over the regional situation and sea routes.
US President Donald Trump said in a post on the social media account ‘Truth Social’, “Iran is finding it very difficult to understand who its real leader is. Even they themselves do not know clearly. There is a huge internal tussle going on there between the ‘hardliner’ (strict stance) and ‘moderate’ (soft stance) groups.
Trump said, “We have complete control over the Strait of Hormuz. No ship can go in or out unless it gets approval from the US Navy. It is completely ‘sealed’ until Iran makes an agreement.”
Indeed, the Trump administration has extended the ceasefire with Iran, while maintaining a comprehensive naval blockade. The White House said there is no deadline for talks and hinted at continuing economic pressure on Tehran.
White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said the United States is pursuing a dual strategy – tightening financial and maritime sanctions while deterring military attacks.
