Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are teaming up once again with director Mohit Suri for a new romantic film. The expectations are high for the film and as seen in his earlier films, Mohit Suri is expected to give much importance to music this time too.
Music composer Mithoon has reportedly joined the project which is tentatively titled 'Satranga' and is currently in pre-production.
Mohit Suri and Mithoon reunion
Mithoon first worked with Mohit Suri on the 2005 film 'Zeher' with the song 'Woh Lamhe'. The duo has collaborated on several successful projects over two decades.
After the chartbuster music of 'Saiyaara', their reunion has generated strong excitement among fans. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Mithoon has already started composing for the new film.
Upcoming romantic drama details
The project is reportedly described as an intense love story backed by YRF. Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda will reunite with Mohit Suri after their successful outing in 'Saiyaara'. The film was officially announced a week ago. Filming is expected to begin by the end of this year with a targeted release in late 2027.
Mohit Suri film to have a new playback singer
Mithoon has begun work on the music as the film is in pre-production stage. There is speculation that the team plans to introduce a new playback singer through the album. “It is going to be an intense love story with YRF, and the music will reflect that. There’s also buzz that the team is looking to launch a new singer with this album," as quoted by News 18. Mohit Suri is currently finalising the script.
The successful partnership between Mohit Suri and Mithoon has delivered memorable songs in films like Murder 2, Ek Villain, Aashiqui 2 , Malang, and Half Girlfriend. With 'Saiyaara' still fresh in audience memory, this new romantic venture carries high expectations.
Music as core element in Mohit Suri films
Mohit Suri places immense importance on music in his films. Earlier in a chat with HT, Mohit has made films in various genres, but music has been at the heart of all of them. He explains, "I have never actually made films without music, whether it's a thriller like Murder 2, a drama like Aashiqui 2, or an action film like Awarapan. Even a slasher like Ek Villain has music."
He further shared his approach. "Everyone assumes I am good with music, but I am not. I only know love songs. Maybe I am good at it. I want to make films that have music that stays relevant today and tomorrow. I use songs as a screenplay, not as something that needs to be added as garnish," he told in the 2025 interview.
