Bhubaneswar: Pictures from the grand wedding of Mayurbhanj sub-collector Kasturi Panda, a 2023-batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre, went viral on social media on Friday, drawing congratulations from peers and well-wishers.
Panda tied the nuptial knot with her batch mate Shiv Malviya, who is currently serving as Balasore sub-collector, on April 19 at Noor-Us-Sabah Palace, a 20th-century lakefront palace in Bhopal. The couple exuded royal charm with the bride dressed in “regal red” lehenga and the groom in pastel sherwani with a light pink turban.
Pictures from the mehendi and haldi ceremonies have also been shared by the IAS officers on Instagram.

Panda, an engineering graduate from NIT-Rourkela, had secured All India Rank (AIR) 67 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022. Malviya, a Assam-Meghalaya cadre officer, was transferred to Odisha last year on grounds of his impending marriage. They got engaged in November last year.
With this, Panda and Malviya have joined the growing ranks of young officer couples serving in Odisha
In May 2023, fellow IAS officers Ananya Das, the then Sambalpur collector and currently Deputy Secretary in the Health and Family Welfare Department, and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Chanchal Rana, who then served as Balangir collector, exchanged vows in a ceremony in Guwahati, Assam. Notably, it was the second marriage for both: Ananya was previously married to IAS officer Abdaal M. Akhtar, while Chanchal was the ex-husband of another IAS officer, Swadha Dev Singh.
Singh of 2014 batch also married Saamarth Verma (2011 batch, then Puri Collector) in 2023. The couple, who had been serving as district collectors (Swadha in Rayagada and Saamarth in Puri), are currently on central deputation. Other senior officer couples include Arabinda Padhee and Usha Padhee, Sujata R Karthikeyan and V K Pandian, who have voluntarily retired from service, and Arti Ahuja and Manoj Ahuja, who served as Chief Secretary of Odisha until his retirement on December 31, 2025.
