New Delhi: Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan scripted history on Friday after becoming the fastest-ever player to reach 2000 runs in the Indian Premier League. Sudharsan reached the landmark during the IPL 2026 clash between GT and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.

After the Titans were put into bat first by the defending champions, Sudharsan along with skipper Shubman Gill got the team off to a flying start crossing the 100-run mark in the 10th over without losing any wicket. In the 9th over of the innings being bowled by Krunal Pandya, the left-handed batter was batting on 66 when he struck a huge maximum on the last ball to reach the big milestone.

Sudharsan surpassed Chris Gayle’s record who had got to the 200-run mark in his 48 IPL inning while the Titans player achieved the record in his 47th IPL inning.
