New Delhi: Last year, India sold its manufactured smartphones not only in the country but all over the world. According to the report, India has registered a growth of 8% in smartphone exports in the year 2025. Due to which exports worth Rs 28 lakh crore have taken place. These figures for the year 2025 show that India is no longer behind. Rather, it is taking its new vision and technology seriously and there is no dearth of innovation.
This is the first time that smartphones have become India’s number one export category. Moving away from traditional industries, now almost 1 in every 4 smartphones is being manufactured in India and exported to the global market. India has achieved all these achievements for the first time in the smartphone industry.

Bhagwati Products Limited, which earlier manufactured phones of Micromax Informatics, has now changed its business model. Now this company provides Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and has joined the top 5 export companies of India. This company produces in India for companies like Vivo, Oppo and Realme. These are all high-volume brands. For this reason, the company has become one of the top mobile manufacturing companies of the country.
PLI scheme has a big hand!
With the help of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme of the Indian Government, local manufacturing and exports have got a big boost. Under this scheme, those companies get economic benefits which increase production in India and promote exports.
How was this possible?
Apple Inc. And Samsung Electronics, both these companies have chosen India for manufacturing. Apple has especially made India an alternative manufacturing base after China. Due to which big export numbers are being seen. Along with this, the Indian smartphone industry is growing rapidly.
