Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has made many big announcements for the farmers of the state. In fact, he has said that the state government is continuously working to increase the income of farmers and strengthen agriculture. In this direction, it has been decided to celebrate this year as ‘Farmers Welfare Year’ and work on many new schemes has been started. In fact, the Chief Minister has said in his address that this time wheat production in the state has been quite good. In view of this, the Central Government was requested to increase the purchase limit.
In fact, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that now the target of purchasing wheat at support price has been increased from 78 lakh metric tons to 100 lakh metric tons. The Chief Minister has also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for this.

The Chief Minister said that now all small and big farmers in the state can book slots to sell wheat at support price. The government has also extended the date of slot booking so that no farmer faces any problem. Let us tell you that earlier this process was scheduled till 20th April, but now it has been extended till 9th May. Apart from this, the process of purchasing wheat has also been made easier. Now procurement will be done six days a week and procurement centers will remain open on Saturdays also. This is expected to provide relief to farmers from problems like long lines or waiting.
Slot booking period extended further
Along with this, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has also said that if needed, the slot booking period can be extended further. The government is trying to ensure that every farmer of the state gets a chance to sell his crop on time and gets the full price. In fact, he also mentioned a decision to land acquisition. Now farmers will get more compensation than before in exchange for land, which can be up to four times. The government believes that this will protect the rights of farmers and strengthen their future.
Special scheme implemented on urad and mustard
In fact, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that ‘along with farming, the government is also promoting animal husbandry and other activities so that new avenues of income can be opened for the farmers. To promote the cultivation of pulses and oilseeds in the state, a special scheme has been implemented on urad and mustard. Urad crop will be purchased at support price and apart from this, a bonus of Rs 600 per quintal will also be given to the farmers. Similarly, due to the implementation of Bhavantar Yojana on mustard crop, farmers are getting better prices in the market.
A big decision was also taken regarding the electricity system.
Along with this, the government has also taken a big decision regarding the electricity system. Actually, under the Kisan Kalyan Varsh, a scheme has been started to provide electricity connections to farmers for just Rs 5. Besides, work is also being done to provide electricity during day time for irrigation in future. Apart from this, under ‘Krishak Mitra Yojana’, a scheme to provide solar pumps to farmers at 90 percent subsidy has also been implemented. This will reduce electricity costs and farmers will be able to easily meet their irrigation needs.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also informed about the steps taken towards increasing milk production. 1752 new milk committees have been formed in the state and daily milk collection has increased to more than 10 lakh kilograms. The government aims to make Madhya Pradesh the ‘Milk Capital’ of the country in future.
