Mumbai: Sunny Deol’s upcoming film Gabru is seeing a change in its release plan as the makers continue to fine-tune the project. Initially expected to arrive in May, the film has now been pushed further to allow additional work on key elements.
Industry sources indicate that the team is adding fresh musical tracks, with two new songs being developed to strengthen the film’s appeal. Alongside this, Sunny Deol is set to return for a short shooting schedule to film new dramatic portions and song sequences.
The delay also reshuffles the actor’s release lineup. Ikka, featuring Akshaye Khanna alongside Sunny Deol, is now expected to hit theatres first. Following that, Lahore is likely to release, while Gabru is currently being eyed for a Gandhi Jayanti slot.
Directed by Shashank Udapurkar, Gabru centres on an emotional bond between a man and a child. The film also stars Simran Bagga and Prit Kamani in important roles.
