Sanjay Dutt is all set to bring back one of his most iconic films with a sequel to Khalnayak. On Friday, he announced Khalnayak Returns and also shared his look from the film. The actor revealed that he will not only star in the movie but also produce it. Along with this, Sanjay Dutt confirmed that a sequel to Vaastav is also in the works.
Sanjay Dutt Confirms Vaastav 2
During an event, Sanjay Dutt was asked about his other legendary characters, including Raghu from Vaastav (1999) and Murli Prasad Sharma from the Munna Bhai series. When asked if these films would also get sequels, he said, “We are working on Vaastav 2. For Munna Bhai, you’ll have to ask Rajkumar Hirani. Raju, please make Munna Bhai again.”

Vaastav Revived His Career
Released in 1999, Vaastav was directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and had a runtime of around 2 hours and 25 minutes. The film also starred Namrata Shirodkar and Sanjay Narvekar. It proved to be a turning point in Sanjay Dutt’s career. Before this, he had delivered 13 consecutive flops, but Vaastav brought him back into the spotlight.
In an earlier interview, Sanjay had said, “Vaastav taught me how to act. This film is very close to my heart.” The film also earned him his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
Upcoming Projects
Sanjay Dutt was last seen in Dhurandhar 2, where he played the role of Chaudhary Aslam, and the film was well-received. He now has several projects lined up, including KD: The Devil, Raja Shivaji, Aakhri Sawal, and Baap. Fans are eagerly waiting to see him on the big screen again with these upcoming films.
