In 2013, Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur left fans asking for more with their romance in Aashiqui 2. The film became a blockbuster with fans shipping Arohi and Rahul. Now, 13 years after the film’s release, fans are demanding a re-release in theatres. Even Shraddha Kapoor’s old video, approving the request, is now going viral on social media.

A while back, Shraddha Kapoor held an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session for her fans. In one of the requests, a fan suggested bringing Aashiqui 2 back to theatres. While the clip itself is old, its sudden reappearance has reignited excitement among fans who have long hoped to relive the film on the big screen.

Responding to the request, Shraddha had said, “I think yeh bahut hi brilliant idea hai. Main producers ko yeh suggest karungi. Kyunki mujhe bhi ise dobara bade parde par dekhna hai. This is a really good idea."

In 2013, Aashiqui 2 was a huge rage with fans loving Shraddha and Aditya’s on-screen chemistry. The film also helped build Aditya and Shraddha’s film careers, thanks to the massive popularity.

However, there has been no official word from the makers regarding any such plans so far.

Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur were rumoured to be dating from 2012 to 2014. However, in different interviews, they both had shot down all rumours. In an interview to Filmfare, Shraddha had claimed that fans think they are a couple because of Aashiqui 2, "No. We were never a couple. It was just a rumour and people got carried away with Aashiqui 2 and started believing that we were a couple."

In an interview with IANS, Aditya had denied the rumours, "Everybody asks me this question but I chose to keep mum or say no comments. All I can say is that I am single and not dating Shraddha. She is a good friend."

The duo later reunited for OK Jaanu in 2017. While they never openly accepted dating, fans still ship Aditya-Shraddha and want to see them back on the big screens.
