Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma made the most of fielding blunders committed by Rajasthan Royals players to lead the Sunrisers Hyderabad to a 5-wicket win in the IPL 2026. Chasing 229, the visiting team reached the target in 18.3 overs.
Ishan was quick to get off the blocks, amassing 74 runs off 31 balls, laced with 11 fours and 3 sixes. On the other hand, Abhishek managed 57 runs in 29 deliveries, including 11 boundaries and 1 maximum. The two added 132 runs for the second wicket at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Nitish Kumar Reddy (36 off 18) and Heinrich Klaasen (29 off 24) added important runs in the end.
Jofra Archer (2 wickets), Brijesh Sharma (1 wicket), and Ferreira (1 wicket) tried their best in the bowling department.
With their fifth win of the season, Hyderabad have moved up to third place in the standings. Rajasthan have dropped down to fourth spot, with 10 points from 8 contests.
Meanwhile, the efforts by Kishan and Abhishek cancelled out a well compiled hundred by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the first innings. The 15-year-old accumulated 103 off 37 deliveries, including 12 maximums and 5 boundaries. Apart from him, Dhruv Jurel (51 off 35) and Donovan Ferreira (33 off 16) also batted well. However, the home franchise was guilty of not batting aggressively in the death overs despite Sooryavanshi’s top effort with the bat.
Eshan Malinga took two wickets while the likes of Pat Cummins, Nitish, Sakib Hussain and Praful Hinge dismissed one batter each.
