A shocking news has come to light amid the political turmoil within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, who recently left AAP and joined BJP, is facing a lot of resentment on social media. Within just 24 hours, there has been a huge decline of about 14 lakhs in Raghav Chaddha’s Instagram followers. As of Friday, he had 14.6 million followers, which dropped to 13.2 million by Saturday evening. Experts believe that this is a sharp reaction from the youth and party supporters.
Crisis looms over MPs’ chair: Will write letter to Speaker After this major rift in the party, veteran Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh has taken charge. Sanjay Singh has announced that he will write a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman to disqualify all the 7 Rajya Sabha MPs who left the party and joined BJP. Sanjay Singh argues that under the anti-defection law, any type of factionalism or division in the Rajya Sabha cannot be recognized, even if the MPs have a two-thirds majority. He clarified that the 10th Schedule of the Constitution does not recognize any such separate group as legitimate.
Swati Maliwal’s attack: Kejriwal called anti-women Swati Maliwal, who left the party, has made very serious allegations against Arvind Kejriwal and ‘AAP’ leadership. Maliwal said that he worked shoulder to shoulder with Kejriwal in every movement since 2006, but in return he received insults and assault. He alleged that he was mistreated at home and pressured to withdraw the FIR. Maliwal described Kejriwal as ‘corrupt and anti-women’ and said that he was not even allowed to speak in Parliament for two years. He also clarified that he has joined BJP not under any pressure but because of his faith in PM Modi’s policies.
Raghav Chadha’s clarification: ‘I was the right person in the wrong party’ After joining BJP, Raghav Chadha defended his decision, saying that for some time he had been realizing that he was the ‘right person in the wrong party’. He said that now he wants to get closer to the public. Along with Raghav, who was a Chartered Accountant (CA) by profession before joining politics, big names like Ashok Mittal, Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh and Swati Maliwal have also distanced themselves from the party.
Huge protest in Punjab: ‘Traitor’ written outside MPs’ house The anger of AAP workers against the MPs who left the party has come out on the streets. Activists wrote ‘traitor’ outside the house of cricketer and MP Harbhajan Singh in Jalandhar and the house of Trident Group owner Rajinder Gupta in Ludhiana. Slogans were also raised against Ashok Mittal, founder of Lovely Professional University (LPU). Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister has sought an appointment with the President to discuss the entire incident. Rebel leaders have also made serious allegations against the Punjab government of being run by remote control and promoting illegal mining and drugs.
