IPL 2026 Points Table after RR vs SRH: The 36th match of IPL 2026 was played on 25 April between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad won this match, after which they got a huge advantage in the points table. Thanks to Vaibhav Suryavanshi's century, Rajasthan Royals scored 228 runs in 20 overs but they failed to defend it against the explosive batsmen of Sunrisers. Before the RR vs SRH match on April 25 itself, the record total of 265 runs could not be defended by the Delhi team, after which the Punjab Kings, who are chasing it and have not lost till now in IPL 2026, have become a bigger challenge for the other teams.
Sunrisers Hyderabad got this benefit
Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets. While playing first, Rajasthan Royals had set a target of scoring 229 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad achieved that target in 9 balls before losing 5 wickets. The benefit of this was that Sunrisers Hyderabad slipped one place to Rajasthan Royals in the points table and occupied the third position.
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have won 5 and lost 3 in the 8 matches played so far. Both have 10-10 points in the points table. But Sunrisers Hyderabad's run rate of 0.815 is higher than Rajasthan Royals' run rate of 0.602, that is why they are higher in the points table. Sunrisers are at number three while Rajasthan team is at number four.
The reign of Punjab Kings continues
In the points table of IPL 2026, after 36 matches, the first position is of Punjab Kings, who have not lost a single match till now. This team has lost one point only because the match was canceled due to rain. Otherwise, he has 13 points after 7 matches played so far. Defeating Punjab Kings has become a problem because they are winning both by setting the target and by chasing the target.
He made a record by chasing the highest score of 265 runs in IPL against Delhi Capitals. Earlier, in the match in which he batted first, he was seen defending the score he had set. Gujarat Titans is at 7th, Mumbai Indians is at 8th while Lucknow team is at 9th.
