Mumbai: The BSE Sensex jumped 398.16 points to 77,062.37 in early trade on Monday. The NSE Nifty appreciated 133.90 points to 24,031.85.
In the previous trading session, FIIs were net sellers in the cash market, offloading equities worth Rs 8,827.87 crore, while DIIs provided partial support with net inflows of Rs 4,700.71 crore.
Last session, Nifty settled closed on a negative note, down by 275 points -1.14% to settle at 23,897.95. The index opened on a negative note and it drifted lower from the outset and the fall gained momentum in noon session as the index tested 23,813 zone. The index traded with negative bias for the entire trading session. It formed a bearish candle on the daily scale as it continued the lower-high formation of past three session.
US. markets closed on a mixed note in the previous session, with the Dow Jones Fut. down by -0.08%, the S&P 500 Fut. up by 0.02%, and the Nasdaq Fut. up by 0.17%. Meanwhile, GIFT Nifty Apr Futures is trading up by 60 points, indicating a positive opening for Indian markets.
