New Delhi: Today, 27th April 2026, is teaching us a special lesson. This day says to leave the past behind and make a new beginning. Only when we say goodbye to negative memories and bitterness, space is created for new happiness in life. Acharya Chanakya’s policies also teach that some mistakes cause pain to a person again and again.
There is an important verse in Chanakya Niti:
‘Kashtam cha khalu foolvam, kashtam cha khalu yauvanam. Kashthat kashtaram chaiva pargehe niwasanam.’
What does it mean:- Stupidity is painful, life is also painful, but the most painful of all is to live in someone else’s house. Through this verse, Acharya Chanakya points out four major mistakes in life, which cause both sorrow and humiliation to a person.
What is the greatest sorrow?
Let us tell you that Acharya Chanakya believes that being a fool is the biggest suffering. A foolish person repeats the same mistake again and again. He does not listen to the right advice and is quick to listen to what others say. He doesn’t see his shortcomings.
That’s why insults and failures come to him again and again. Stupidity does not just mean being illiterate. This is lack of understanding. A person who does not learn from his mistakes falls into the same pit again and again.
Zeal for life can also become a cause of suffering
Youth is full of energy and enthusiasm, but Acharya Chanakya calls it also painful. At this age, a person takes wrong decisions out of excitement. Anger, haste, bad company and pride make youth difficult.
Many youth invest their energy in the wrong place and later regret it. Chanakya says that discipline and prudence are very important in youth. Concentrate your energy on studies, work and good habits. An action done without thinking becomes a sorrow for the whole life.
Living in someone else’s house is the biggest problem!
In Acharya Chanakya Niti, living in someone else’s house has been described as the biggest hardship. It means being dependent on others. When a person lives at the mercy of others, he loses his freedom. The person living in someone else’s house has to face insult again and again.
He has no respect and has to obey the wishes of others all the time. Acharya Chanakya teaches to be self-reliant. Live with your earnings, even if you struggle in the beginning. There is no greater happiness than freedom.
How can man save himself?
It is noteworthy that according to Chanakya Niti, to get relief from these troubles, learn something new every day. Read books and listen to experienced people. Control your enthusiasm in your youth and take decisions after thinking. Earn yourself and become self-reliant. Remove old things from your heart, learn from your mistake and move forward.
The essence of Acharya Chanakya’s policy is that suffering often comes from our own mistakes. Stupidity, youthful enthusiasm, dependence on others and old bitterness, these four things give trouble to a person again and again. If you leave them, life will become easier.
