Ranveer Singh's Unconditional Apology Accepted By Karnataka HC In Kantara Mimicry Case; Details Inside

Ranveer Singh has been making headlines for quite some time following the Ranveer Singh Kantara mimicry moment during the 56th International Film Festival of India held in Goa. Now, after a hearing in which the court directed him to visit the Chamundeshwari Temple, the latest update is that the Karnataka High Court has accepted the actor’s unconditional apology.

The matter was heard before Justice M. Nagaprasanna, where Ranveer’s lawyer informed the court that a fresh affidavit had been submitted without any conditions attached. The counsel also confirmed that the actor had agreed to visit the Chamundeshwari Temple soon. The court has orally indicated that it is likely to close the matter after reviewing the revised affidavit he filed.

What Happened At IFFI Regarding Ranveer Singh’s Kantara Mimicry?

During a session at IFFI, Ranveer Singh recreated the popular Chaudi moment from Kantara. He referred to the character as a female ghost, crossed his eyes, stuck his tongue out, and added his own dramatic scream, while Rishab Shetty laughed beside him.
He also jokingly suggested that the audience ask Rishab Shetty to cast him in Kantara 3. However, the clip quickly surfaced on social media, and the reaction was far from positive, adding to the Ranveer Singh Kantara controversy and eventually leading him to the Karnataka High Court hearing.

Ranveer Singh Posted An Instagram Story After The Incident

After facing hours of trolling, Ranveer Singh shared an apology note on his Instagram Stories. He explained that he intended to appreciate Rishab Shetty’s powerful performance in the film and expressed admiration for the effort it would have taken to perform that particular scene. He also clarified that he has always respected every cultural tradition and belief in the country and offered a sincere apology if his actions had hurt anyone’s sentiments. This statement later became an important part of Ranveer Singh’s unconditional apology.
