New Delhi, 27 April. Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has left the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. After this decision, many questions were continuously being raised on him. Some people were wishing him good luck while others wanted to know the reasons behind his decision. To answer these questions, Raghav Chadha posted a video on his Instagram account on Monday. Raghav Chadha said in the video that he has been receiving a lot of messages for the last three days. Most of the people are giving him best wishes and congratulations, while some people want to know the reasons behind his big decision. So he has made this video for all those who probably did not even watch his press conference.
He told that before joining politics he was a practicing chartered accountant. He had a very good career in front of him, but he left that career and entered politics. He never did politics to make a career. Rather, he became a founding member of the Aam Aadmi Party and gave the entire 15 years of his youth to that party. He nurtured and expanded that party with his hard work and blood and sweat. But now that party is no longer the same as before. A toxic atmosphere has developed in the Aam Aadmi Party today. They are prevented from working there and are prevented from speaking in Parliament. The entire party is now trapped in the hands of some corrupt and compromising people. These people no longer work for the country but for their personal benefits.
Raghav Chadha said that for the last several years there was a feeling that he was not at the right place. “Maybe I am the right man, but in the wrong party,” he said. There were only three paths in front of them. First, leave politics completely. Second, try to improve things by staying in the same party, which was not possible and third, use your energy and experience to do positive politics by going to some other platform. So he chose the third path, but he did not take this decision alone. There were other MPs with him. A total of seven MPs together decided that they are now breaking their ties with this party. He said, “One man may be wrong, two men may be wrong, but seven men cannot be wrong.”
He said that many educated, intelligent people were associated with the dream of this party, but later they also left the party. Could they all be wrong? Giving an example, Raghav Chadha said, “For those of you who work, what would you do if your office becomes a toxic place where you are not allowed to work, your hard work is suppressed and you are silenced? Obviously, you would leave that place.” He said he did the exact same thing. He said, “I will now raise your problems with more enthusiasm and energy than before. The good thing is that now we will be able to find solutions to those problems and also implement them.”
