A lucky father who scooped a £3million Cornwall mansion put the extraordinary property back on the market just eight weeks after claiming his prize.
Uttam Parmar, 58, secured the dream Cornish home after entering the Omaze million pound house draw back in 2022.
After buying the £25 ticket, Uttam from Leicestershire won the breathtaking Camel Estuary home on 12 August and celebrated with his wife Raki and son Aaron.
However, on 8 October, he listed it for sale at £4million. The prize included the property mortgage-free, along with an additional £50,000 and all stamp duty and legal expenses covered.
Following visits to Cornwall, the family opted against keeping the lavish Cornish mansion, preferring the familiarity and peace of their own red-brick detached home, reports Cornwall Live.
Speaking about their windfall, Uttam said: "We were absolutely thrilled to win the house, Cornwall is such a magical place and we have enjoyed spending time as a family in this extraordinary property, we've especially loved waking up to such spectacular views. Everyone in Cornwall has been so welcoming, it has really felt like home, reports the Manchester Evening News.
He then went on to explain the decision to sell up: "As much as we've loved our time here, our lives are primarily based elsewhere, and it is such a hugely valuable asset to not use more regularly, so we decided to sell."
"I know the next owners will enjoy this house just as much as we have." The property, which was built with "no expense spared", offers breathtaking views across the surrounding countryside and is situated near the charming coastal village of Rock - where celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay owns a £4.4million home with his family.
The eco-friendly mansion features insulation made from recycled newspaper and a 'green roof' covered with grasses, moss and flowers, which recycles water, attracts wildlife and enhances air quality.
Uttam entered the Omaze Million Pound House Draw in July 2022. After eight unsuccessful attempts, he and his wife eventually claimed the top prize.
He was at hospital when he discovered he had won the four-bedroom property after purchasing a £25 ticket.
The home boasts a sun-drenched terrace, a hot tub, and a private courtyard with exposed brick walls and an open fireplace. Inside, there is a spacious, open-plan kitchen and dining area perfect for entertaining.
With its modern design, the property was crowned best new build in Cornwall in 2020. The substantial 4,200 square-foot home also comes with five acres of land nestled within the Cornish countryside.
Local estate agents have estimated the impressive property could fetch up to £15,000 per month in rental income during peak season.
At the time of his win, Uttam said: "I've always considered myself a lucky person, firstly because of my wonderful family - but I've also won a few items such as a TV and coffee table, which I was pretty content with."
An Omaze spokesperson confirmed that prize winners enjoy complete freedom regarding how they manage their property.
The representative said: "All Omaze winners are free to decide if they live in their new house, rent it out for a supplementary income or sell it whenever they wish, to become a cash multi-millionaire - they can put it on the market the day they get the keys - the choice is entirely theirs."
They added: "Omaze Grand Prize winners also receive £250,000 in cash to maintain their new property and help them settle in."
"Estimated running costs for each house are available for entrants to view on the Omaze website. If they decide to keep the house, they could afford to comfortably stay for many years using just the £250,000 settling in money."
"All Omaze properties come with no mortgage and no stamp duty or legal fees to pay. The properties also come with all the furniture featured in the adverts."
"Omaze styles each property with well over a hundred thousand pounds worth of furnishings and essentials, so they are all ready for a winner to enjoy as soon as they get the keys."
"As well as the £250,000 they receive, it's worth bearing in mind that if a winner was already paying rent or a mortgage for their previous property, the money saved could also go towards the running costs of their new home. Alternatively, if they do already own a property, they could choose to keep it and rent it out as a supplementary income."
The property, which was constructed with "Should winners wish to rent out their new property, they can achieve long-term rental values of thousands of pounds a month. Whatever their circumstances, all Omaze winners have several fantastic life changing options available to them."
"Omaze is immensely proud to have created 36 millionaires whilst also raising more than £85 million for good causes in the UK since it launched here."
