Bihar Crime News: No matter how cunning a criminal may be, they often leave behind some clues that can lead to their capture. This was evident in the tragic case of a 10-year-old girl who was murdered in the city area of Patna. A few goat hairs were instrumental in guiding the police to the perpetrator, who attempted to destroy evidence. The incident occurred near the Jalla Mahavir Temple in the Bypass police station area.
On April 23, the lifeless body of the young girl was discovered wrapped in a blanket near a pile of garbage in a narrow alley. She had left home to fetch milk but never returned. Following this incident, there was significant outrage among local residents, putting pressure on the police to solve the case.
Goat Hairs Provide Key Evidence
Patna SSP Kartikeya K. Sharma revealed that during the investigation, the police noticed the blanket that had been used to wrap the body. Upon closer inspection, they found goat hairs stuck to the blanket. This led them to suspect that the assailant lived nearby and likely owned goats.
Suspect Found Sweating in a Locked Room
As the police began searching the alley, they discovered 4-5 goats tied outside a room that was locked from the outside. When the police broke the lock, they found the suspect, Ranjit, hiding inside. To mislead the authorities, he had locked the door from the outside and was sitting inside without a fan, drenched in sweat, while keeping an eye on the police activities through the window.
Chilling Details of the Crime
Upon rigorous questioning, Ranjit confessed to his crime. He admitted to luring the innocent girl into his room with ill intentions. When she began to scream, he struck her on the head with a stone from a grinding stone, resulting in her immediate death.
Body Disposed of in Panic
The suspect kept the body hidden under his bed throughout the day. Around 2 AM, he attempted to dispose of it by wrapping it in a blanket and heading towards a nearby pond. However, upon seeing a police patrol vehicle, he panicked and discarded the body near the garbage pile before fleeing. The police have arrested the suspect and are proceeding with legal actions. This case has garnered praise for the police's astuteness in solving it.
