Two giants of the world of technology are face to face. The names are Elon Musk and Sam Altman. Elon Musk is the owner of companies like Tesla and Space Now the trial of the case between these two is starting and Elon Musk is angry at Sam Altman on social media. He is calling Sam ‘Scam Altman’ and making many allegations. This lawsuit was filed by Elon Musk in the year 2024 and alleged that OpenAI has deviated from the purpose for which it was started and now it is only making money-making models in collaboration with Microsoft.

Initially Elon Musk had filed a lawsuit only against OpenAI but now Microsoft has also been made a party in this case. The hearing of this case will begin on April 28 in the Oakland Federal Court of California. Judge YG Rogers will monitor the hearing of this case. First of all, a panel of judges has to be formed for this case.

What is the fight about?

Elon Musk says that he has also spent a huge amount to create OpenAI. According to Elon Musk, he had given funding of 38 million dollars i.e. approximately Rs 350 crore. Elon Musk says that while taking funding it was said that OpenAI will be kept open source and it will be used for the development of humanity.

Now Elon Musk is alleging that Sam Altman has changed its purpose and he is only working with Microsoft to print money. In this case, Elon Musk has said, ‘This is a matter of philanthropy versus greed. Sam Altman has betrayed Elon Musk. It was told to Elon Musk that it would be created and kept open source to help people against the challenges of AI.

What does Elon Musk want?

Now Elon Musk has filed a case demanding that he be compensated for $134 billion. Not only this, he is also demanding the removal of Sam Altman from the post of CEO. He says that he does not want this money for himself. Elon Musk says that this money should be given to the non-profit wing of OpenAI.

What’s Sam Altman saying?

Obviously Sam Altman is contesting these allegations. OpenAI rejects accusations of deviating from its core mission. He says that he is creating such AGI which is for the benefit of humanity. Regarding Elon Musk, OpenAI says he is running a ‘disturbing campaign’. He says that Elon Musk is doing all this only to create an environment in favor of his xAI and to clear its path.

Not only this, OpenAI has also said that Elon Musk wanted complete control over the company but when the other co-founders like Sam Altman, Greg Brockman and Sutskever did not agree to it, then Elon left the company in the year 2018 itself. According to OpenAI, Elon Musk had then also said that the company had 0% chance of success but he was proved wrong and the company went out of business and since then he has been carrying out such attacks.

OpenAI has also said that the $38 million donated by Elon Musk has been spent towards OpenAI’s core mission.
