Council of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh (UP Board) has started the online application process for scrutiny (recalculation of marks) of answer sheets of class 10th and 12th board examination. Students who are not satisfied with their marks can apply through the official website of UP Board upmsp.edu.in till 17 May 2026.

The board has fixed the fee at Rs 500 per subject (each question paper). Keep in mind that separate fees will have to be paid for both written and practical. If students want to get scrutiny of both written examination and practical, then they will have to pay separate fees for both (total Rs 1000).

The board has also made it clear that the scrutiny fee (separately for written and practical section) will have to be deposited in the state treasury through challan. After downloading the details of the online filled application, its print out and all the necessary documents will have to be sent to the concerned regional office of the Council. All students should fill online form, offline applications submitted directly will be rejected. Any application received after the due date will not be considered by the Board.

What happens in scrutiny?

Let us tell you that after the results of UP Board 10th and 12th, the process of scrutiny (recalculation of marks) is done for those students who are not satisfied with their marks. A fixed fee has to be paid per question paper (subject) for scrutiny. If after scrutiny an error is found in totaling, the marks may increase or decrease. Whatever new result is obtained, it is considered final. Keep in mind that scrutiny only involves re-adding the marks or checking whether any answer is left unchecked. In this, the entire copy is not rechecked. The board releases the revised result a few weeks after the end of the application process. If there is a change in the marks of a student, he/she is issued a new mark sheet and the old mark sheet has to be returned to the board.
