Mumbai: Deepika Padukone is likely to skip high-risk stunt sequences in ‘Raaka’ because of her pregnancy, with filmmaker Atlee planning to use a body double for action scenes.
The decision has been taken to ensure Deepika’s safety while allowing the shoot to continue smoothly.
“Deepika has a stellar entry, and also a big action moment with Allu Arjun. All of those will now be done by a double, whereas Deepika will continue to shoot the dramatic moments. Her role stays intact, with no deletion what so ever. She is a key protagonist of Raaka, and nothing changes due to pregnancy,” a source close to the project was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
Earlier, a source had shared: “Amidst her pregnancy, Deepika Padukone is shooting intense action sequences for Raaka and will continue to shoot for the film throughout her pregnancy.”
Directed by Atlee, ‘Raaka’ has been generating buzz, especially for the roles played by Deepika and Allu Arjun.
On April 19, Deepika announced her pregnancy on Instagram, sharing a post that offered a glimpse of her daughter Dua holding a pregnancy test.
The couple welcomed their first child, Dua, in September 2024.
They introduced her during Diwali, sharing her name ‘Dua’ which means ‘prayer.’
