Hardoi. PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Ganga Expressway in UP on Wednesday. The inauguration program will be held in Hardoi near Lucknow. Ganga Expressway is the longest greenfield expressway in UP. It has now been made of six lanes. In the coming time, Ganga Expressway will be made eight lanes. Because it is built on the banks of river Ganga, it has been named Ganga Expressway. With this, one can travel from Eastern UP to Western UP in just five to six hours.
The construction of the 594 km long Ganga Expressway has cost more than Rs 36,000 crore. Ganga Expressway will start from Meerut in UP and reach Prayagraj. 12 districts of UP will be connected by Ganga Expressway. These also include Meerut, Bulandshahr, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. Apart from these, 519 villages will also be connected to Ganga Expressway. Like every expressway, an airstrip has also been built on the Ganga Expressway. The Air Force will be able to use the 3500 meter long airstrip of Ganga Expressway when needed. One kilometer long bridges have been constructed at Hapur on Ganga Expressway and 720 meter long bridges have been constructed at Ramganga. Apart from 14 main and 126 small bridges, 929 culverts have been built on the Ganga Expressway. Besides, 381 underpasses have also been built on Ganga Expressway.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s government intends to connect the Ganga Expressway to the religious city of Haridwar in Uttarakhand in the future. UPEDA has also planned to connect Ganga Expressway with Yamuna Expressway through a link road. So that people can reach Jewar International Airport and Delhi through Ganga Expressway. Yogi government of UP has already built Purvanchal Expressway. With the commencement of traffic from Ganga Expressway, the livelihood of the industries and villages lying on its path will also get a big boost. Besides, new industries will also open on the entire route of Ganga Expressway. Who will play a big role in the development journey of UP.
