Indian actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has openly criticized the presence of racism in Bollywood, sharing his personal experiences of discrimination within the film industry.

In a recent interview with Indian media, the actor stated that the issue in Bollywood goes beyond nepotism, arguing that racism plays a much larger and more damaging role. He acknowledged facing bias himself and highlighted how deeply rooted such discrimination is in the industry.

Siddiqui explained that unfair treatment exists in various forms across the Hindi film industry. He emphasized that conversations around favoritism often overlook the more serious issue of racial bias, which continues to shape opportunities and perceptions of talent.

The actor also spoke about society’s narrow definition of beauty, criticizing the obsession with fair skin and artificial standards. He stressed that beauty should not be dictated by rigid or superficial criteria, and that individuals should be free to define it for themselves.

Reflecting on his craft, Siddiqui noted that the camera captures authenticity rather than surface-level appearances. According to him, true beauty lies in depth and realism, not in conventional or imposed ideals.

His remarks have reignited discussions about diversity and inclusion in Bollywood, with many acknowledging the need for broader representation and more inclusive standards within the industry.
