Viewers simply cannot get enough of this smash-hit drama's provocative humour.
Netflix has just dropped a hugely popular series that originally aired between 2004 and 2011, which fans argue would never make it past the censors in today's politically correct climate.
The comedy-drama first broadcast on FX in the United States ran for seven seasons, clocking up nearly 100 episodes that are now available to binge-watch in their entirety.
Be warned, however, as those of a more delicate disposition may find some of the show's dated dialogue rather jarring. The series in question is Rescue Me, a firefighter drama set against the backdrop of New York City and fronted by Denis Leary.
Leary plays 1st Grade Firefighter Tommy Gavin, a man wrestling with the devastating loss of his cousin and 59 fellow firefighters who perished in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, reports the Mirror.
As the show progresses, viewers are drawn deeper into Tommy and his colleagues' complicated personal lives as they grapple with post-traumatic stress and the gruelling day-to-day pressures of life as a first responder.
Alongside Leary, the programme boasts an impressive ensemble of regulars and guest stars, including Steven Pasquale (Six Feet Under), Dean Winters (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Larenz Tate (Power), and Maura Tierney (Law and Order).
Major Hollywood names have also made memorable cameo appearances, among them Michael J Fox (Back to the Future), Susan Sarandon (Thelma and Louise), Marisa Tomei (Spider-Man: No Way Home), and Peter Gallagher (Grace and Frankie).
One 10/10 review from an IMDb user dubbed it "One of THE best!!" The reviewer went on to describe how they've spent their career in law enforcement surrounded by other men and have never encountered a show that captures the "team ethos of males working together" quite so authentically.
"The constant pranks, the p***-taking, the arguments, the SO politically incorrect nicknames and attitudes. Leary and Tolan have absolutely nailed it," they wrote. "The writing and acting is top drawer. This is quality TV, that makes my all time top 5. Superb stuff."
Another viewer agreed it deserves a "top five" spot, labelling it "extremely great" following a second binge-watch.
"A show would never make it like this today with all the politically correctness everything has to be or it will be shunned by Hollywood," the fan claimed. "It's a real show with real guys, and real situations even though sometimes a bit off the wall. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone."
A further admirer described Rescue Me as "one of a kind", cautioning that "first and foremost, this is a GUY'S show. I know women who like it, but the content of this show is unapologetically male.
"It's a show about a bunch of guys working hard, playing hard, drinking, screwing, swearing. Comedy is very prevalent in the dialogue...much of it sexist, racist and definitely not politically correct.
"It's a bunch of guys busting balls and having fun, but when they'd get a call, we get to see the bravery and heroism as the drama unfolds." Notwithstanding some of the boundary-pushing dialogue, they maintained the drama is "definitely worth repeated viewings", so be sure to add Rescue Me to your list for your next binge-watching session.
Rescue Me is available to stream on Netflix.
