The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed payment changes for benefits this week. Some Brits will see their State Pension and other payments, including Universal Credit and PIP, hit their accounts early.

Due to the upcoming Early May Bank Holiday weekend, some claimants may receive the cash earlier than usual. This is because DWP offices and phones will be shut on Monday, and payments are made when all services, including the online chat and Jobcentre Plus offices, are available. Banks are also usually closed over the Bank Holiday, so payments will be brought forward to the end of this week to ensure claimants have access to the funds.

The payments set to be affected include Universal Credit, State Pension, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Child Benefits, Adult Disability Payment (ADP) and Attendance Allowance. Meanwhile, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and Social Security Scotland have also confirmed some scheduled payments will be made early.

Below is a full list of payments that could be affected by the upcoming bank holiday and the one later in May. However, if your payment does not fall on either of the Bank Holiday dates - May 4 or May 25 - it will be sent as normal.

Payments due to be made on Monday, May 4 will be issued on Friday, May 1. Likewise, those scheduled for Monday, May 25 will arrive on Friday, May 22.

• Carer's Allowance
• Employment Support Allowance (ESA)
• Income Support
• Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
• Pension Credit
• Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
• State Pension
• Universal Credit

Payments due to be made on Monday, May 4 will be issued on Friday, May 1. Meanwhile, those scheduled for Monday, May 25 will arrive on Friday, May 22.
