Prime Minister Narendra Modi is soon going to inaugurate this longest and ambitious expressway of the state. This 594 km long expressway will not only connect Western UP with Eastern UP, but will also prove to be an engine to take the state’s economy to new heights. Experts believe that once this project becomes operational, the way will be cleared for investment of about Rs 4,70,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh, which is expected to provide employment to lakhs of youth.
The journey from Meerut to Prayagraj will be easy, the distance of hours will be covered in minutes. The Ganga Expressway will pass through 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. With the commencement of this expressway, the distance between Meerut and Prayagraj can be covered in just 6 to 7 hours, which earlier used to take more than 12 hours. This expressway will not only speed up transportation, but industrial corridors, warehouses and logistics parks will also be developed along it.
Mahakumbh of investment: UP expected to get Rs 4.7 lakh crore The state government aims to make Uttar Pradesh a 1 trillion dollar economy through this expressway. There are plans to establish many new industrial units along this 594 kilometer journey. It is estimated that after the commissioning of Ganga Expressway, a huge investment of Rs 4.7 lakh crore will come in the state. This will not only develop infrastructure but will also make it easier for local trade and agricultural products to access larger markets.
Expressway is equipped with hi-tech facilities, fighter planes will be able to land in emergency Ganga Expressway has been designed keeping in mind the future needs. For security reasons, modern CCTV cameras and Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) have been installed on it. The special thing is that an airstrip has also been built on this expressway near Shahjahanpur, which can be used for landing and take-off of Air Force fighter planes in case of war or emergency. This expressway is also environment friendly, along which thousands of trees have been planted.
