IPL 2026: KSCA Refutes Security Breach Allegations After CCTV Issue at Chinnaswamy
Cricket Gully | April 29, 2026 7:39 PM CST

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has come forward with a thorough clarification in light of recent reports about alleged CCTV issues at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This incident occurred during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday, April 27.

In response to the swirling rumors, the KSCA explained that the situation was simply an internal matter involving private vendors and had nothing to do with the stadium’s official security system.

They clarified that the CCTV cameras in question were set up by these private vendors for their own operational needs and are not part of the security infrastructure utilized by the police and security teams at the venue.

The statement went on to stress that the police department has its own distinct and independent security network in place at the stadium, which is fully operational and unaffected by the situation. It was also noted that the issue stemmed from a payment dispute between a vendor and its employees, with all related server rooms and technical systems being managed privately.

Crucially, the KSCA confirmed that everything was sorted out before the stadium opened its doors to the public. They reassured everyone that there was no security breach, no disruption to match-day activities, and no threat to the safety of players, officials, or fans. The KSCA firmly stated that the venue’s security framework remains strong and intact.

On the field, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been on a roll at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during IPL 2026, clinching four out of five matches. They successfully chased down hefty targets against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans, triumphed over the Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, with their only defeat coming at the hands of the Delhi Capitals.
