No matter how much Ranveer Singh tries, it looks like he'll not be able to impress Mukesh Khanna to become the next Shaktimaan. Dhurandhar turned him from an underrated actor to one of the best actors Bollywood has seen in the modern age.
The Shaktimaan star has talked about how impressed he was with the actor as well. While Ranveer eyes the role of India’s most iconic superhero, no blockbuster role will be able to convince him.
Dhurandhar didn’t convince Mukesh Khanna

Speaking with Hindustan Times, Mukesh Khanna once again reiterated that he doesn’t think Ranveer Singh would make for a good Shaktimaan. He isn’t hesitant about casting the actor in the reboot, his problem always came with how he doesn’t think Ranveer has the perfect face for the hero.
“Mujhe manane mein lage hue hain sab, ki Dhurandhar chal gayi, ab toh Ranveer Singh bohot bada actor ban gaya. I don't want a very big actor for Shaktimaan, I don't want a star for Shaktimaan. I want an image for Shaktimaan that was not with Ranveer, which is why I took a stand against it. I am not against his performance.”
Khanna is impressed with his acting skills like anyone else. However, his vision for Shaktimaan is very different.
“Woh Alauddin Khilji kar sakta hai, Gully Boy kar chuka hai, woh Dhurandhar kar gaya bohot achha, maine taareef bhi ki. But for me, to become Shaktimaan one does not just need to be an actor, but also needs a face. The face should suit Shaktimaan. Mera objection sirf yahi hai ki uski aankhon mein Shaktimaan dikhna chahiye, woh khada ho toh woh scheming nahi dikhna chahiye. I can sign Ranveer for Kilvish (the villain), not for Shaktimaan. Negativity hai face par, positivity nahi hai uske face par.”
He then talked about the film itself, “Aa raha hai, aana chahiye. Rukawat ke liye khed hai. Everybody knows what the speed-breaker is. Everyone knows what my objection is.”
Eventually, there would be a smaller actor or an entirely new face that takes on the iconic role. It doesn’t matter how much anyone may try to convince Mukesh Khanna about Shaktimaan, his mind is not going to change.
