Muddebihal: A boy has died in Vijayapura district due to the severe heatwave conditions prevailing across the state over the past few days.
The deceased has been identified as Shrisail Basavantappa Biradar (15), a resident of Ingalagi-Takkalaki village in Muddebihal taluk. He had been admitted to hospital after falling ill due to intense heat, but died on Wednesday without responding to treatment.
Suspected heat stroke
Shrisail, who lived near the Krishna river region under Nalatwad hobli, had recently completed Class 7 and was set to join Class 8. He was reportedly active in studies and sports.
According to sources, he fell seriously ill after playing outdoors in the heat. He was immediately shifted to a hospital, but is suspected to have suffered heat stroke, and succumbed despite treatment.
