Emergency services and police swarmed Golders Green Road on Wednesday following reports of a knife attack. Witnesses captured images of a significant police presence and a cordoned-off area as authorities secured the North London scene.
The Jewish volunteer security group Shomrim intervened after a male suspect was allegedly seen running through the area armed with a blade. The group successfully detained the individual before Metropolitan Police officers arrived to take him into custody.
During the arrest, police officers deployed a taser to subdue the suspect. He was subsequently arrested and remains in police custody while investigations into the motives behind the daylight assault continue.
Reports indicate that two victims sustained stab wounds during the incident. They received immediate medical attention from Hatzola, a Jewish emergency medical volunteer service, before further assessment of their conditions.
