PM Modi Varanasi Visit: Today (Wednesday, April 29) is the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. An amazing sight was seen on the streets of Kashi this morning, when PM Modi conducted a grand road show. A huge crowd of people gathered in the streets of Banaras to get a glimpse of their favorite MP and the Prime Minister of the country. Kashi kept echoing with the chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ all the way.
During this time the atmosphere looked completely festive. BJP workers were seen dancing to the beats of drums and the PM was given a grand welcome at many places. People showered flowers on the PM’s convoy from the rooftops of their houses and from the roadside. At the same time, the Prime Minister also accepted the greetings of the public by shaking hands and expressed his gratitude to everyone.
Kashi colored in saffron from BLW to Maidagin
This mega road show of the Prime Minister started from Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW). After this, the PM’s convoy passed through major areas like Lahartara, Kachari, Ambedkar Square, Chowkaghat, Teliabagh, Lahurabir and Maidagin. People were standing in queues for hours in advance to welcome PM Modi in every corner of the city. This road show concluded at Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
Special worship in Baba Vishwanath temple
After the road show, PM Modi directly reached Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Here he bowed his head at the feet of Baba and took part in traditional rituals amid the chanting of Vedic mantras. Five pundits performed special puja for the Prime Minister in the sanctum sanctorum. During this puja which lasted for about 20 minutes, the PM was seen immersed in devotion. The priests garlanded him and blessed him by applying Tripunda on his forehead.
Trishul and Damru received as gift
After the completion of the puja, local representatives warmly welcomed PM Modi. He was presented with a trident, damru and a traditional stole as a memento of Baba. The Prime Minister accepted these gifts with great reverence. As soon as he came out of the temple premises, the devotees present there made the sky echo with slogans of ‘Har Har Mahadev’. The PM also greeted everyone with folded hands and interacted with the small children present in the corridor.

The Prime Minister shared pictures of his visit on social media and wrote an emotional post. He said, “Har Har Mahadev! Had the privilege of darshan and worship at Baba Vishwanath temple in Kashi. Here prayed to Lord Bholenath for happiness, prosperity and healthy life for all the countrymen. Got immense peace after darshan of Mother Annapurna and Mother Ganga. May their blessings infuse positive energy in everyone! Salutations again to the people of Kashi.”
