Actor Peter Falk's daughter, Jacqueline Falk, has died aged 60. The Los Angeles Medical Examiner's Office confirmed to TMZ that she died by suicide in California earlier this week. Tributes have been flooding in for her, with one person writing on X: "Heartbreaking news, sending love to her family during this painful time." A second added: "At 60, she still had a life behind her, a story of her own, and people who cared about her." Someone else penned: "Tragic news. Peter Falk's daughter's passing by suicide at 60 is a heavy loss for the family. Columbo's iconic legacy now carries another quiet sadness behind it. Thoughts with those who knew her best. Rest in peace."
Jacqueline was one of the Columbo star's two adopted daughters.
Peter, who played Lieutenant Columbo in the series, adopted Jacqueline and her sister Catherine when he was married to his first wife, Alyce Mayo. The pair tied the knot in 1960 and divorced in 1976.
Peter went on to marry actress Shera Danese, who also appeared in Columbo.
He passed away in 2011 following a battle with dementia and Alzheimer's, aged 83, following such a successful career in television.
After his death, Catherine became an advocate for families' rights after claiming she was unable to visit her father during his final years due to conservatorship arrangements.
She managed to get later Peter Falk's Law passed, which introduced guidelines requiring conservators to notify family members of death or serious health issues, while also offering legal routes to secure visitation.
